With the help of others in her community who long to see the quarrel healed, Jonathan and Addie struggle to continue their relationship against both sets of parents' wishes. But when one of Addie's vengeful brothers harms a member of the Mosier family, Jonathan intervenes and is banished from Lancaster County.

First came the Montagues and the Capulets, followed by the Hatfields and the McCoys. And then there are the Cramers and the Mosiers. Addie Cramer's parents have long been in a feud with the Mosiers. Addie is a respectful young woman who always does as her parents and church wish, so she agrees to marry the man her parents choose for her, Phillip Eicher. She is put to the test, however, when she falls in love with the Mosiers's son, Jonathan. Against the wishes of both of their parents, Addie and Jonathan continue to see each other, until one of Addie's siblings hurts a Mosier and Jonathan intervenes. For his part, Jonathan is banished from Lancaster's Amish community, and Addie, determined to end the feud, decides to uncover the reason for long-held grudges. VERDICT Best-selling author and Christy Award-winner Gould, who cleverly reinterpreted Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew in Courting Cate, now offers a witty and engaging take on Romeo and Juliet. Gould's latest Amish romance shows the writer at her best, and it is sure to be requested by fans of Mindy Starns Clark and Suzanne Fischer Woods.
