From Beth Harbison, the New York Times bestselling author of When in Doubt, Add Butter and Shoe Addicts Anonymous, comes Chose the Wrong Guy, Gave Him the Wrong Finger, a delightful new novel that will make you look at second chances in a whole new way.
Ten years ago, Quinn Barton was on her way to the altar to marry Burke Morrison, her high school sweetheart, when something derailed her. Rather, someone derailed her—the Best Man who at the last minute begged her to reconsider the marriage. He told her that Burke had been cheating on her. For a long time. Quinn, stunned, hurt, and confused, struggled with the obligation of fulfilling her guests' expectations—providing a wedding—and running for her life.
She chose running. With the Best Man. Who happened to be Burke's brother, Frank.
That relationship didn't work either. How could it, when Quinn had been engaged to, in love with, Frank's brother? Quinn opted for neither, and, instead, spends the next seventeen years working in her family's Middleburg, Virginia, bridal shop, Talk of the Gown, where she subconsciously does penance for the disservice she did to marriage.
But when the two men return to town for another wedding, old anger, hurt, and passion resurface. Just because you've traded the good guy for the bad guy for no guy doesn't mean you have to stay away from love for the rest of your life, does it? Told with Beth Harbison's flair for humor and heart, Chose the Wrong Guy will keep you guessing and make you believe in the possibilities of love.

Runaway bride Quinn Barton helps make other women’s wedding dreams come true, but can’t find her own happy ending in this smart, funny, and unapologetically romantic tale of finding love—and the guts to embrace it. Harbison (When In Doubt, Add Butter) hits all the right notes with wounded Quinn, who runs a wedding gown business in the Virginia suburbs; Burke Morrison, the guy she left at the altar after his brother Frank told her about Burke’s serial cheating; and Glenn, Quinn’s gay pal, who—10 years after Quinn’s wedding fiasco—helps coax the shell-shocked seamstress out of her rut with a riotous “Go Commando Day.” But Burke and Frank’s grandmother Dottie is the one who finally forces Quinn to face her demons and move on, though Quinn, a self-described Cinderella, just can’t seem to decide who her Prince Charming is. Harbison keeps the conflict interesting with a clever parade of brides-to-be. “Most people are smart enough to remember they ended it for a reason in the first place, but not us,” admits one divorcee before remarrying her ex. Harbison (When in Doubt, Add Butter) brings every girl's worst nightmare to life. On what should have been the happiest day of Quinn Barton's life, her wedding day, she discovers that her husband-to-be has been cheating on her. Quinn flees the scene and spends the next ten years hiding from the memories of her failed romance in, ironically, a wedding dress boutique, helping other young women live the dream she never fulfilled. When her ex-fiance returns to town, predictably Quinn's life is turned upside down. There isn't much intrigue or excitement here, but this is a very truthful account of heartbreak and the hope for love and redemption. Orlagh Cassidy gives the characters heart, depth, and fantastic Southern accents. VERDICT Perfect for fans of light romance and a great beach read. ["A decent beach read, but the characters could use an extra boost of chemistry," read the more positive review of the St. Martin's hc, LJ 6/15/13.]--Erin Cataldi, Franklin Coll. Lib, IN
