Jumping back and forth in time at the beginning of the novel may leave readers craving alternating chapters throughout the book. However, Blades gives just enough early background information to satisfy interest before moving into the present for the remainder of the story. Nora's wedding jitters, which are masking her true feelings, can get repetitive, until her ex-classmate Dawn enters.
