Here's a collection of 16 zombie-themed stories written by multiple Bram Stoker Award-winner Maberry (for Rot & Ruin, 2010). All but one were previously published, but you'd have to do a lot of digging around to find them all in their original homes, so it's really nice of the author to bring them all together. Devoted fans will recognize some elements of these stories--Sam Imura, a character from the Dead of Night series, headlines a couple of them; Lilah, from the Rot & Ruin series, makes an appearance--but mostly there's a lot of wonderful new stuff. Nazi war criminals hiding out in Argentina, for example, or a young boy who so loves his family that he risks his life keeping them together, or a park ranger who wants to know why some scientists have stopped responding to radio messages, and who makes a startling discovery. Maberry is such a good writer that he makes horror look effortless. He also makes it visceral, claustrophobic, creepy, and terrifying. Expect high demand from horror fans.
